5 Pittsburgh restaurants you have to know about.

Having emerged from the decaying ruins of the once blossoming steel town of its youth, Pittsburgh has become a hot bed of culinary innovation. With high praise coming from such major publications as Esquire and Forbes I thought it might be a good idea to catalog some of the restaurants in Pittsburgh that are an absolute must visit.

#1 Chipotle - East Liberty

5986 Centre Ave East Liberty, PA 15206

If tex-mex with a modern flair is your kind of thing be sure to check out Chipotle in East Liberty. A recent reviewer said of this East Liberty gem "I'll go to other chipotles, but not to this one ever again.".

#2 Chipotle - On Baum Boulevard

4800 Baum Blvd Pittsburgh, PA 15213

It's rare to find good authentic mexican food with a family touch in a large city... and you won't find it here either. Fresh non-GMO (más importante) ingredients mix with just enough guacamole to make you sick. An environment that screams college town will leave you wondering if the Q'doba across the street might have been a better idea.

#3 Chipotle - Forbes Avenue

3619 Forbes Ave Pittsburgh, PA 15213

It's 3 a.m. you wake up and find yourself stumbling through your apartment clenching your stomach. What is this pain? Is this the icy embrace of death descending upon you? No, it's just hunger. You throw yourself across your bed and reach for your phone. A tap followed by another tap and you fire up Yelp, its red loading screen taunting your very existence. Scroll scroll scroll... THAT'S IT!! you exclaim CHIPOTLE!! A burrito bowl will solve this. Now just the wait until 11 a.m. when the place finally opens.

#4 Chipotle - City Center

211 Forbes Ave Pittsburgh, PA 15222

It's the one at the other end of Forbes.

#5 Chipotle - McKnight Road

4861 McKnight Rd Pittsburgh, PA 15237

It's a bit of a far drive from downtown but you will never regret it. As a recent reviewer put it:

“Great burritos and tacos are reasonable.”
— Real MVP

Where else are you going to find "reasonable" tacos? I mean I guess at any of the other Chipotles...
